Teaching one horse at a time is special in it's own way. Teaching two horses together is AMAZINGLY STIMULATING.
As the days, months and years pass, they will become braver, they know there is a bit of stress in learning, but there's also fun, puzzle solving, and lots of praise to stimulate their kindred spirit.
Two partners with different aptitudes and attitudes, keep me aware of what I need to bring to the team: confidence knowledge, and a child's joy for play.
Photos Tell A Story. I was going through my photos recently and it occurred to me how these few photos my daughter took last summer, put together in sequence, tell a story.
Before I ride Kloee and have Escudo by my side, I first warm up my team by challenging them with obstacles. I'm observing them for: willingness to be part of the team, relaxation while doing what I've asked, and waiting with patience when I'm preoccupied with another team member.
It's time to ride Kloee, and have Escudo follow directions alongside. Even though Escudo is at the bottom of the pecking order in his herd, Kloee doesn't boss him when they are both with me. She understands that when I am leading the team, there is no pecking order. They both focus on me and bravely go forth and approach each obstacle with the daring of a warrior. I try to make each session different and stimulating, so they want to learn what is being taught.
Dear Sandy! Thank you SO much for taking on Chip and I as your clients. Over the past almost 3 years, what we have learned together and building a foundation of mutual trust, on the ground first, and now in the saddle, has really transformed Chip and I into a true team and partnership. I have gone from never handling or riding him without being in a lesson to riding on my own, almost daily and doing ground work together. And even crossing that terror barrier of cantering and having fun together! I’ve learned so much about his “horsenality” and how it affects everything we do. From the bottom of my heart Thank You! Not for me, but for helping me give this beautiful and special creature the life he deserves finally! Nafissa
